Dr.Abdul Khaliq
Dr. Abdul Khaliq is senior faculty member at SS-CARE. Dr. Khaliq's research interests are in the areas of utility planning, dynamic security, control, and optimization of large-scale power systems, risk assessment in asset valuation, energy trading, and remnant life estimation of power system components. He has published several research papers in conferences and journals of international significance.

Work experience
Dr. Khaliq investigated the analytical and AI techniques for dynamic security assessment and optimization of power systems during his stay at Georgia Institute of Technology. He was also a member of the team that developed a complete package for Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for direct stability analysis of electric power system that uses detailed machine models. After graduating from Georgia Tech. in 1995, Dr. Abdul Khaliq joined the financial planning and analysis group of the Southern Company in Atlanta USA. He worked on the development of a number of models in the areas of utility planning, electric utility cost structure, production dispatch, Monte Carlo based risk assessment for wholesale energy marketing and asset valuation at the Southern Company. Dr. Abdul Khaliq was a faculty member at GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (1997-2000) and American University of Sharjah, UAE (2000-2006) before joining SSCARE School of Engineering. Dr. Abdul Khaliq is a registered Professional Engineer of Pakistan Engineering Council and a Senior Member of IEEE (USA).
