Dr Aamer Iqbal Bhatti
Dr. Aamer Iqbal is the founding Chairman of Electrical Engineering Department at SS-CARE. He has specialization in Control Systems Design and Digital Signal Processing. He has more than nine years of teaching and research experience in algorithms design and implementation for engineering applications. He is the first author of twenty international refereed publications.
Educational Qualifications
Ph.D. in Control Engineering from University of Leicester, UK
M.Sc. DIC in Control Systems from London University (Imperial
College)
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore
Work Experience
During his stay in UK, Dr. Aamer worked as postdoctoral researcher and project leader of a research team to develop intelligent fault diagnostic methods for diesel powered systems at Leicester University Engineering Department. Tasks carried out there included project planning, diesel engine modeling, nonlinear observer development and the engine state analysis using Fuzzy Logic. This was a joint project between Leicester University, Perkins Technology and Lucas Industries. Later he worked as a consultant in ERDC Info, Islamabad. The nature of work pertained to nonlinear system modeling, simulation, identification, controller design and implementation, data acquisition and signal processing. In December 2002, he joined Communications Enabling Technologies, Islamabad, as Member Technical. There his work was focused on the design and implementation of signal processing algorithms including adaptive filtering, echo cancellation and general parameter estimation schemes. He has worked on the development of Control & DSP algorithms including radar signal processing schemes and UAV controller design. Dr. Aamer is also supervising several Ph.D. students in the areas of Flight Dynamics & Control, Radar Signal Processing and Speech Compression.
Since December 2002, he was Communications Enabling
Technologies, Islamabad, as Senior Member Technical. There his
work was focused on the design and implementation of signal
processing algorithms including adaptive filtering, echo
cancellation and general parameter estimation schemes.
Currently Dr. Bhatti is a Senior Member Technical at CARE where
he is working on design and implementation of control and signal
processing algorithms including radar signal processing schemes
and controller design.
Dr.
Bhatti is also supervising several Ph.D. students in the areas
of Flight Dynamics & Control, Radar Signal Processing and Speech
Compression, and also teaches postgraduate courses in M.Sc.
Computer Engineering classes at CASE.
