  Eligibility Criteria  
 

The candidate should have passed the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics with at least 60% marks from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by HEC. This criterion is in-line with the guidelines from Pakistan Engineering Council.

Equivalent Examinations:

The following examinations are considered equivalent (for admission purposes) to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

  • Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.
  • Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.
  • American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.
  • B.Sc. in double maths, physics from an HEC recognized university.
  • Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) with relevant subjects.

  Admission Deadlines  
Fall 2007 admission deadlines are

  Admission Process  
 

SS-SS-CARE welcomes all applicants qualified to achieve the Institute's laid down academic eligibility standards without regard to gender, race, creed, or age. Admissions to all programs of SS-CARE School of Engineering are granted on the basis of merit only, which is determined on the basis of the admission tests and students' previous academic records. Essential details can be obtained by visiting the web site of the Institute (www.ss-care.edu.pk). Admissions for regular students are offered in only fall session every year and are advertised in the leading national dailies and on institute's website, in the month of May/June. Prospective students are required to submit the application package available from the Admission Office as advertised. Admission test is conducted right after one week of last date of registration, which is followed by the result announcing the names of successful candidates. Only hundred and ten candidates are enrolled each year as per the policy of the Institute. Students selected in the first list are directed to get enrolled within said date, non-compliance to which results in the transfer of admission offer to the students on the waiting list. The students who are appearing in the 2nd year final exam of HSSC are also eligible to apply, however they will be granted a provisional admission. The admission will be confirmed after submitting the HSSC final result and on verification of other academic credentials.

Cancellation of Admission

SS-CARE School of Engineering can cancel the admission of any student even after his/ her selection for any reason. The reasons for the cancellation are communicated to the student in writing.

Deferment of Admission

Students who are finally selected for admission can defer their admission for one year after paying the admission fee and the admission deferment fee of Rs. 5000, subject to the fulfillment of academic eligibility for the program applied

Ineligibility for Admission

Students who have previously been dropped from any engineering program of the school for academic reasons will not be permitted to rejoin the sameprogram. Similarly, the students expelled earlier for disciplinary reasons will not be allowed to rejoin the Institute.

 

Fee Structure

Payment of Fee

StuStudents are required to pay the fees at the time of admission and registration for the subsequent semesters. Following tables describe the fee structure for the current year. The fees may be revised in the beginning of a new academic year.

Refund

Fee will be refunded to the students who desire to withdraw/discontinue/migrate their studies according to the following rules.

  • Fee refund will only be considered if full fee has been paid
  • Admission fee shall not be refunded in any case
  • Students, who are given provisional admission when waiting for the results of exams, if subsequently fail to qualify and do not meet the prerequisites for admission; will be given refund of the fees they paid minus admission fee
  • If the students, who have been newly admitted in a particular semester, want to withdraw their admission after the Admission Withdrawal Date (which is usually 2-3 weeks before the commencement of their classes), will only be refunded the security deposits
  • Security fee, and 50% of tuition fee will be refunded to the existing students, if applied up to the date of commencement of classes
  • No fee shall be refunded to an existing student if he/she drops a course or semester after the commencement of classes
  • If a student doesn't show up and remains absent for three weeks, his/her admission will be cancelled and no fee refund will be allowed

Scholorships

Students with outstanding performance are awarded scholarships in each semester in accordance with the policy enforced at that time. Scholarships are generally performance based, and the Institute provides financial assistance to a certain number of students with the highest scores in each batch provided they have a CGPA of 3.5 and the previous semester GPA is 3.75 or above. A few students are also provided financial aid on need-cum-merit basis. To apply for the financial aid, a student must have a CGPA of 3.25 or above and previous semester's GPA of at-least 3.5. The student must submit a written application to the Chairman of the Department at the time of semester registration. The School has a Financial Aid Committee who meets in the beginning of each semester to take decisions on such applications for that particular semester. SS-CARE is committed to distribute at-least 10% of its total tuition-fee received in each semester as scholarships and financial aids.

Industry Sponsorships

Universities and industry, which for long have been operating in separate domains, are rapidly inching closer to each other to create synergies. The constantly changing management paradigms, in response to growing complexity of the business environment today have necessitated these two to come closer. CARE (Pvt) limited is the pioneer inidentifying and bridging this gape between industry and academics. Currently, couple of industry leading groups is providing financial support to SCSE's talented students in the form of talent scholarships, for which the Institute nominates and selects outstanding candidates. The election criterion for those scholarships is highly competitive, based on candidate's academic performance and capability.

CARE Technical Excellence Award

CARE (Center for Advanced Research in Engineering) Private Limited deals in Software Development and Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering with focus on Communication Systems and Information Technology. CARE (Pvt) Limited has provided scholarships to the two top students. This scholarship includes the full tuition fee wavier, and CARE will continue to provide it in every semester automatically to students who have performed excellent in the previous semester.

DANCOM Talent Scholarship

Dancom Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd was established in 1995. Their major shareholder Dancom Telecommunication (M) Sdn Bhd Malaysia provides total Telecom & IT solutions for Malaysian market and rest of the world as well. The group specializes in Smart technology-based products application, cellular deployments, IT related projects, Digital TV, Broadband wireless and turnkey solutions related to telecommunication projects. Company's core strength lies in its state of the art telecom systems deployment, dedicated expertise to manage and operate the core network, an effective after sales support network of over 62 offices all over Pakistan with over 800 personnel. Dancom Pakistan (Pvt) Limited has provided scholarships to two selected student in each semester in the form of full tuition fee wavier.
