Introduction |

| |
SS-CARE School of Engineering (SCSE) is a joint project of
Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE), an Islamabad
based engineering organization and Sir Syed Memorial Society (SSMS),
a registered trust, in affiliation with University of
Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila. The school, with its
dedicated body of faculty, students and staff, is committed to
become the center of excellence in Electrical Engineering with
focus on advanced technological developments in fields of
Telecommunication and Computer Engineering. Through its
teaching, research and outreach, SCSE addresses the issues that
are essential for the best realization of the social and
economical benefits that are likely to emerge from sustainable
technological growth in Pakistan. The School strives to be the
pioneer in building partnerships with leading academic
institutions, government organizations and industry.
B.Sc Electrical Engineering program, with specialization
in Telecommunication and Computer Engineering, has an
exceptional blend of theoretical research and extensive
practical training to mold students into skillful professionals
ready to take up real world challenges in the industry. A career
management team is on board to assist students in seeking
employment immediately after the graduation.
A strong curriculum in each of these fields of study is offered
by highly qualified engineering faculty including 7 Ph.Ds and 5
M.Scs with reputable accomplishments in research, academic
publications and industrial projects. The School provides
advanced lab facilities equipped with industrial software and
hardware tools to support its academic programs.
With the new technologies emerging at a faster pace, the
technology gap between the developing and the developed nations
of the world continues to widen at an alarming rate. A major
reason for this widening gap is the lack of skilled
engineers/technologists capable of integrating new technologies
into existing systems and networks. The mandate of the SS-CARE
School of Engineering is to bridge this gap by educating
engineers with the ability to plan, execute, and manage the
latest technologies.

The Central Aligarh Old Boys Association, Islamabad, in a fitting tribute to the invaluable
services of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan in the field of Education, formed Sir Syed Memorial
Society in 1984. The main aim of the society is to promote the educational mission of Sir
Syed by promoting a blend of Islamic values and modern technological excellence. Since
its inception, the society has held educational seminars and symposia quite regularly. By
holding these educational forums, Sir Syed Memorial Society has played its part in
furthering the cause of education. As the President of the Society, I must say the
launching of a School of Engineering in collaboration with Center for Advance Research in
Engineering (CARE) following in the footsteps of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, is a step in the
right direction.
The crowning success of our efforts is the affiliation of the school with University of
Engineering & Technology, Taxila, a premier university of the country. The Sir Syed _
CARE School of Engineering (SS-CARE) will indeed aspire to educate Pakistani youth in
modem engineering fields laying special emphasis on quality of education, character
building, and of brotherhood amongst the students. The school will, Insha Allah, become
one of the highest seats of leaning in the fields of engineering and new emerging
technologies. The SS-CARE School of Engineering will play an important role in
producing skilled manpower and also plans to make its contribution as a welfare and noncommercial
academic institution by offering education and skills to the nation's youth. It
aims at striving towards development of the students not only as technical experts but also
as honorable and responsible citizens. The character building aspect of the students of
SS-CARE will emulate the following advice of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam
MuhammadAli Jinnah:
“Education does not merely mean academic education; we have to build the character of
our future generations which means highest sense of honor, integrity, selfless service to
the nation and a sense of responsibility.”

Sir SyedCARE School of Engineering (SS-CARE) was established as a center of
excellence on the pattern and spirit of Aligarh Muslim University and vision of Sir syed
Ahmad Khan. The institute portrays the blend of aspirations of Sir syed memorial society
and Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE) in the common pursuit of
promotion of modern, scientific and technical education and moral values. We aspire to
produce human beings who are equipped with tools of new millennium and highest sense
of dedication, sense of responsibility, and esteemed character. We dream of a student of
SS-CARE School of Engineering entering in the practical life with confidence and
commitment and contribute in the field of engineering with his reason, resolve and
ingenuity. He should not merely be a job seeker, he should rather be a value addition.
Considering the highly qualified and dedicated faculty, I am very confident and positive that
Insha Allah this institute will bridge the gap of modern technology and put Pakistan on the
path of scientific advancement. We are offering courses which are the demand of the time
and urgency of the land. These courses meet international standards and criteria.
I urge the new entrants to shrug off all false biases and start their assignment with full
confidence, wisdom and deep commitment.

The School |
|
| |
Located in the heart of
Islamabad city with a scenic view of Damin-e-Koh and Peer Sohawa, SS-CARE
School of Engineering is a project undertaken by a team of foreign qualified
engineering PhDs. They enjoy vast and diversified know-how of both
theoretical knowledge and practical scenario of the industry. The school
undertakes
to educate and better nourish fresh minds in the field of engineering with
full technical expertise all through their academic tenure.
The idea at SS-CARE School
Of Engineering is not just to teach what is written in latest text books of
the subjects but to
make sure that the students digest the theoretical concepts and apply them
to practical use. In short students at SS-CARE School Of Engineering are not just
individuals seeking professional degree but in fact they are hard working
and hard worked upon engineers in the making.
The distinctive feature of
SS-CARE School Of Engineering is that the students are offered counseling
and assistance in better managing and planning their futures in the light of
the experience of the qualified professors which is a rare commodity in most
leading institutes present in Pakistan. Every batch and discipline of the
institute will be broken down into syndicates and each syndicate will be
assigned a counselor, whose duty will be to suggest and advise students in
taking proper measures and steps for managing their courses, grades and
eventually their professional fields.
Above all what is important
and foremost in the life of an engineer is that where he winds up at the end
of the day or in other words at the end of his educational life. The team of
SS-CARE School Of Engineering has kept this issue in its mind. The decision
has been taken to encourage and boost the spirit of competition by offering
to take the competent and hard working students in serious consideration for
job employment and internships by fully utilizing its convivial links in the
industry and the job market in general. The aim is to provide a better and
prospective future to the students and fresh graduates especially. The
students will not be roaming around with no idea for the future of their
perspective fields but instead shall be guided and preached about what sort
of job would match their aptitude.
Education and learning is
an endless and boundless activity, which continues for life for many who
then bring laurels to their countries, families and organizations. The aim
of SS-CARE School Of Engineering is to make the individuals seeking
technical knowledge aware of this fact and help them acquire this state of
mind.
